A man with the name of Qaiser Nazeer was known for his Canal Motors. His office is located on the Jail road and Faisal Town, Lahore. From the last 10 years he was running a business where he use to take the money from the people, order cars and then sell them and in the end, he usually returns the profit to investors.

I don't know how people came to trust the dealers, as the trend suggests, you shouldn't trust the local dealers, anyway it's the money and profit and a greedy nature which makes you forget everything.

Anyway, going further on, From November 2009, he started claiminig everyone that the business is going down and soon the cheques of investors were going bounce though he kept on saying them that everything will be sort it out in a day or two, and people believed him in blind way in thinking that he has such a big office, how he can run ?. But these days, it's hard to rely on anyone.

Now no one know's where he is, all of his cell numbers are blocked and people started protesting against him.

The reason for this price was due to the continuous decrease of the rupee value in the international market which forced the dealers to increase the price.

The Ogra claim on this reduction was, due to the decrease of oil prices in Global market we have reduced the prices but on the other hand, People didn't accepted that prices and claimed that this small decrease won't make any difference and cannot be considered as a reduction in prices

Despite the car owners making full payments, they are still unable to get cars and to get their cars on time, often they have to pay additional amount ranging from Rs. 10k to Rs. 50K.

Almost everyone wants to have it's own car and want to get rid of the Public transport, specially the kind of system we have in Pakistan, no one likes it, But in order to get their desire fulfilled they have to pay additional amount and during this economic recession time, specially when the prices of daily essentials are going higher and higher, it is getting difficult for everyone to afford it.

Interesting thing here we would like to discuss is, The Government seems have no control on this issue or it is not trying to, whatever the reason is, but in the end, who goes affected the most ? it's the end consumer!.

According to a market survey, car dealers are trying to get additional Rs40K to Rs45K for the Suzuki Swift, which is launched about a month ago in the 1300cc category While Rs30K to Rs40K are being demanded for Suzuki Mehran.

Going further, Rs25K to Rs35K are being charged for other suzuki cars.

Besides, the dealers of Honda Civic are also demanding Rs40K to Rs50K.

All Pakistan Motor Dealers Association, has stated that the import of used cars and other transportation vehicles have been made quite expensive in order to promote the local car manufactures which has resulted the end users with limited options, high prices and poor quality

It has been recorded that the consumer have no choice left to opt for, as the imports during last six months decreased to only 2100 units

All this happened due to increase in taxes,

* The government has reduced the car age limit to three years

* 50 Percent regulatory duty has been imposed

* 12.5 Percent Increase in duty

On the other hand, due to this, there was increase in local market for new cars and as a result, all the car manufacturers have increased their prices

Interior is quite improved, considering it has Sporty, Easy to read instruments, Moving on, the meter is Tachometer, The car also has Power steering, Power Windows, Power side views.

The door handle is made up of chrome. Enough space in dash board. Seats are made up of fabrics. Audio system is also bundled inside. There's also a driver side armrest.

P.S. Not to forget, there is also plenty of room space behind rear seats

Suzuki swift has 1300cc Engine. The car comes up with 5 Speed Manual gear transmission system. The engine assures quickest Pickup, steady drive and optimum fuel efficiency

Maximum horse power is 89.2 PS (88.0 bhp) (65.6 kW)@ 6000 rpm while the Maximum torque is Maximum torque 118.0 Nm (87 ft·lb) (12 kgm) @ 3400 rpm

The car is using EFi Fuel System.There are 4 valves per cylinder 16 valves in total

Not Impressive list, i believe, but still acceptable unless you are more into making your car more stylish

As compared to other Suzuki cars, Suzuki has worked alot to improve this sector, Suzuki introduced Four wheel Emergency, ABS Braking system, further more the body is somewhat solid also it comes with auto locking

so the owner have ease, not to check every door for locking.

Though, Suzuki took a great step and introduced these safety measures but still, one of the popular Airbags are still missing, though it is a downpoint but as in overall, still much better as compared to other suzuki cars

DRAWBACKS :

To me, the biggest drawback was the absence of Airbags. Another draw back is, that in the same price range as of Suzuki swift, you can buy Toyota Vitz or Yaris which is still much better then this.

Also, I think that if the Suzuki came with a car to compete with 1300cc category, then it should be sedan. Also i have heard many people complaining about the interior as well the poor audio system

The Price of Suzuki Swift 1.3L in Pakistan is, Rs. 999,000/- while in India it ranges from Rs.4,00,000 to Rs.5,00,000 (Due to city by city different prices, we can't quote the exact price)

Conclusion :

Firstly, we would like to appreciate the Suzuki's move, terming it as one of the best car ever produced in Pakistan by Suzuki, it outnumber in features all the previous Suzuki cars, with the addition of ABS , Sporty Look, Alloy Rims, Power Steering and other features, definitely this car has made a competition with other cars upto 1300cc Category. Though Still, it miss some of necessary safety measures as Airbags, further on, the interior can be improved a bit but overall it's a nice package to opt for, keeping in mind the increase of sales in small cars, we would definitely say,

"It's a Good choice to opt for "

The OGRA, Pakistan has increased the petrol prices by rupees 6.10 making the total price to Rs.71.21, previously it was Rs.65.11 per litre while the new diesel price is Rs.71.89 and HOBC is Rs.86.84, i believe, this was a wrong time to increase the petroleum price.

Sale of big cars grows 214% in July 2009 : Pakistan

Finally the automobile industry is moving back with rapid progress. It has been reported that the sale of big cars (1300cc and plus) has registered a sizeable increase of 214 percent while the sale of small cars is reduced to 17 percent in July 2009 as compared to July 2008.

The sale of 1300cc and biggers cars stood at 4,351 units while the sale of small cars (800cc) shrank to 8560 units.

The sale of 1000cc cars has also been increased to 40 percent and stood at 1,555 units

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani son's fined by Capital Police

At first i was shocked to hear this kind of news, take a look at yourself
ISLAMABAD: City traffic police late on Sunday caught Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son for a violation and served him a ticket, which he received civilly and also paid the fine personally.

Sources told Dawn on Monday that Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Liaquat of the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), who was deployed at Radio Pakistan, spotted a car (LEC-411) being driven with high beam.

The ASI signaled the vehicle to stop and informed the driver that he had committed a violation by using high beam. He asked for documents to issue a fine ticket.

The violator introduced him as Moosa Gilani, a son of the premier, but the ITP official again sought the documents.

Mr Gilani handed over the car’s registration book to the police official, who issued him a ticket carrying a fine of Rs200.

Mr Gilani himself visited a National Bank’s branch on Monday and paid the fine to get the vehicle’s document back. He also visited the ITP Headquarters, met senior officers there and commended the ASI’s ‘honesty and zero tolerance.’
Hmm... I'm in the view that the situation is now improving in Pakistan, due to the freedom of Media, Everyone is watched now, People have started following the rules and regulations and if the thinks started going this way, I'm sure the day is no far when we will have a true democracy in our country with the Constitution and Parliament being the supreme powers of the Country.

Well we have previously told you that ECC Allowed Ethanol 10 to be used as a fuel. So here it is,

The governement of Pakistan have finally decided to start Ethanol 10 fuel with the price of Rs. 59.84 per litre, the good news is that it don't comes under GST Tax, and it is Rs2.48 less than the normal petrol.

The main object of Ethanol 10 fuel was

* Decrease Petrol Import

* Increase Foreign Exchange

* Provide cheaper fuel to Motor bikes and 800CC cars.

* Reduce green house gas emissions from transportation sources

* Decrease Pollution

Though this fuel seems to be more cheaper and provide extra fuel economy but keep in mind that this fuel is not suitable for old cars, so if you have one, it's always better to consult with your car mechanic.

Hyundai to introduce 1.1 litre diesel i10 : India

The country’s third largest car maker Hyundai Motor India Ltd is looking to build a diesel engine plant in the country. The auto maker has got an in-principle approval from its parent in South Korea, people familiar with the development said.

Further more, rumours are that the firm is keen to invest Rs.500,000,000 to build a factory that can produce around 100,000 engines

The company is likely to introduce a diesel variant of its i10 hatchback model in the next eight-12 months and likely to import the engine to start with and eventually look at localizing the 1.1-litre diesel engine, the people said.

The supreme court of Pakistan has reversed the orders of government to add carbon tax on petroleum products though this decision is temporarely until the final decision come on this case.

While the supreme court have just given these orders and the people from all ove the Pakistan have welcomed this decision though still after 24 hours of this order, most of the petrol pumps haven't started delivering the petrol on new rates.

When asked Advisor to Petroleum to PM about this matter, he said the ministry will respect the supreme court verdict on this matter.

Due to the economic turndown, and with the current up and down in the petroleum prices, below are several ways for everyone to reduce the cost of driving. There are some as well which only requires a bit of attention.

1: Regular Car Tuning / Service is MUST!

It is your first duty to keep your vehicle maintained with regular changing of oil, water and other services required in order to maintain the car in perfect condition. Also don't forget to regularly check your car tyre's air pressure and wheel alignment because these two alone can improve the fuel economy by upto 10 percent.

Try to find other methods of transportation, like two friends going together to a university instead two going separate, do walk, use bicycle, carpool or take public transportation and leave

Fitch cuts Toyota’s rating to A+

Tokyo : The biggest car manufacturer in Japan, Toyota Motor corporation, had it's credit ratings cut by Fitch ratings.

Fitch downgraded toyota from AA to A+ making it down two notches.

This year toyota is expecting a final loss of 550 billion yen ($5.7 billion) for their second business year in loss ending on march.

While the Director at Fitch ratings, Jeong Min Pak said in a phone call that “It may take several years for Toyota to approach previous levels of profitability,”.

Toyota has 8.3 trillion yen in outstanding bonds and loan.

The fears are that if the conditions and circumstances will remain the same there are chances that the Fitch will further downgrade the

toyota's credit ratings

30 New CNG Buses : Lahore, Pakistan

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, launched these 30 cng buses with expecting that as many as 2000 Cng buses would be run in Lahore and other cities of Punjab in order to control the increasing pollution.

To stem the losses of state owned retailers, the government have finally decided to increase the petroleum prices. With the increase, the petrol price became Rs.4 / per litre expensive while the diesel became Rs.2 / per litre expensive. Other type of oil prices were remained un-changed.

Last time the fuel prices were raised was on 4th June, 2008. Though there after there were 2 cuts in fuel prices in December, 2008 and Janaury 2009 respectively.

With the effect of new petroleum prices, several associations have started refusing the increase in prices like today, All Karachi Transport Ittehad (AKTI) President, Irshad Bukhari has demanded government of immediately withdrawal of the decision.

Further more, he also warned the government that they will halt the transport in case if their demands are not completed.

He also said that prices in International market have not yet reached that level where the increase in petroleum prices in must, so we hereby completely rejects this increase in petroleum prices.

I also personally think that wasn't a fair decision from the government of Pakistan and they should reverse this type of decision, but in country like Pakistan, i don't expect this reverse to be happen.

Govt to earn 43pc per litre from new petroleum prices : Pakistan

After the implementation of the new Carbon tax, the prices have been increased so far that the government will be able to earn 43 percent per litre through petroleum prices.

The advisor to the PM on Petroleum and Natural Resources, Dr. Asim Hussain, The prcies increased in the petroleum are as follows

Petrol = 10.55 Percent

Diesel = 12.50 Percent

After the enforcement of the new price, the ex-refinery price will be Rs36.59 per litre with Rs10/per litre (Carbon Tax) , Rs3.37/Per litre (Intra-country transportation), The commission of dealers will be Rs.2 per litre, Rs1.60/litre commission for oil marketing companies and 16 percent Government charge would be charged which will be Rs.8.57/ Per litre.

Now the price per litre petrol including all expenses would be Rs.43.56 and the government taxes on it will be Rs.18.57/ Per Litre which is about 43 percent of the petrol price.

CNG Dealers go on strike : Peshawar, Pakistan

Following a call from All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA), All CNG stations located in Peshawar have been shut down and gone on strike. The reason so far told by the Acting Chairman of the (APCNGA) Ghayas Abdullah Paracha, It was due to dues of more than billion rupees in terms of estimated bills which have not been submitted far.

Seats are quite comfortable. So sitting in this car isn't a bad deal

Oil prices hit new six month high | Saudi King says fair oil price is 75 - 80 dollars

On Friday, In New york the oil prices rise to 62.54 $ dollars per barrel which is the new six month high, infact most highest prices in 2009 while in London's Brent North Sea crude for July the prices were jumped to 61.24 dollars after an increase of 1.03 dollars.

On the other hand, The Saudi King Abdullah published remarks that the fair price is 75 dollars and infact 80 dollars is more suitable as of now due to the economic crises, Saudi Arabia which is the top oil exporter hopes for increased prices in oil and expecting a stabilize and profitable price of oil.

The current difference is around Rs8.21 or 17 percent. The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Federal Cabinet has decided to allow marketing of Ethanol-10 as motor vehicle fuel on trial basis at PSO stations.

This decision was done under the meeting which was chaired by Shaukat Tareen, Advisor to PM.

What i personally think that it will be a good idea to introduce it, but i think since it's only 10% so i don't think that it will be very cheaper as compared to other fuels but hey! let's hope for the best

Mazda RX-8 from official importer for RM223,699

If you are in Malaysia, that seems to be a good news for you as one of the new Mazda distibutors, Bermaz Motor have just officially opened their doors for the new fully imported Mazda RX-8 in Malaysia.

The engine in the RX8 is RENESIS which is new improved model that was launched with the Facelift. Another thing, which needs to be notice is that it's gas seal lubrication system has also been changed from a mechanical type to a electromagnetic type and there is another additional nozzle to make a total of 3 now.

The Main reason why i love Mazda RX-8 is it's Horsepower, 212 & 211Nm Torque. I beleive in 1300cc category no car is able to compete with this amazing car.

As everybody know, it's engine is specially designed for racing purpose, but you should only put such strain on the engine after it has properly warmed enough. Just Like a BMW M3, the RX8 has a variable redline that prevents overrevving when the engine has not warmed fully.

When it comes to 1300cc Car, I always to have a Mazda RX-8 and i'm based in Pakistan tough and since the duties have recently increased here and due to falling value of our Pak rupees i always force to change up my mind but i haven't still losed my hope!.

Summary moved for cutting down POL prices

According to Geo.tv

"ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has sent a summary proposing a 20 to 30 per cent cut in prices of petroleum products to the Ministry of Petroleum.

The summary states that the rate of petroleum products could be slashed by 20 to 30 per cent in the country following a decline in the international oil prices.

The Petroleum Ministry will review the OGRA’s summary before forwarding it to the Ministry of Finance. Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani will grant final approval to the summary.

The final decision in this regard will be announced tomorrow."

So Little bit happy, after having reduced petroleum prices everywhere our pakistani government have finally decided to lose prices also but let's see what happens as the summary is yet to be signed by our Prime minister.

Cool 2009 Toyota iQ! Can't Miss to see

Well I'm glad to tell that, one of the top automobiles manufacturer, our beloved Toyota, lol! have finally revealed it's new super compact, C-segment, Beautifully designed iQ to the world in Geneva. The production of this car will be started from late 2008.

Toyota produly introduced Six engineering innovations which were used to maximize the interior space thus the iQ is capable of carrying 3+1 Passengers, meaning it can easily adjust three adults with one children with full comfort. Another thing need to be noted is that it have 100mm of added length in cabin as compared to the Toyota Yaris/Vitz. The long wheelbase is of 79 inches, which maximizes the space between wheels.

Kazuo Okamoto, Executive Vice President in charge of Research and Development at Toyota, stated that there should be a change in the concept that small is basic and we have done it by manufacturing the iQ.

Other features like the pushed-forward dashboard features temperature controls with an LCD display, as well as a 5.8-inch screen for satellite navigation system. The iQ which was displayed at Geneva sat, which was on 16-inch wheels and powerplant choices will have two gasoline and one engine based on diesel. The expected production of this car will be 100,000 units, in first year of production Globally.

Removing it can improve your car's fuel consumption average. Though removing it can get you trouble in developed countries like USA, Japan, UK etc.. But people living in Pakistan, India, Malaysia and other under developed countries doesn't need to be worry.

As we have already shown you Toyota Avensis Pictures earlier, in that thread we told you that as soon as we get further details about the new Toyota Avensis we will let our readers know with it. So here comes a full review of the new Toyota Avensis 2009

Launching:

The ALL New Toyota Avensis made his public debut at 2008 Paris Motor Show.

Types :

The new Toyota Avensis is available in two bodystyles - sedan and wagon.

Body Details:

The new Toyota Avensis has the 2700mm wheelbase, same as of the current ongoing second generation model, but according to Toyota, they claim it as a new platform or perhaps an advanced old one which they think should have the new term. If we compare this D-segment sedan with Camry’s 2776mm wheelbase we will come to know it's slightly shorter than it. But that's the way European like their D-segment sedans so it's quite normal for them.

Engine Details:

Toyota Avensis is available in wide range of engines, starting from 1.6L Petrol to a 2.2L D-4D Turbo diesel. ALL The petrol engines come preloaded with their new Valvematic technology which incorporates continuously variable valve lift together with VVT-i valve timing control.

The Engines, 1.6L, 1.8L and 2.0L Valvematic engines produce 132hp with 160Nm of torque, 147hp with 180Nm of torque and 152hp with 196Nm of torque respectively. The oil burners range from a 2.0 liter and two 2.2 liter D-4D engines.These engines have a new piezo injectors and increased common rail pressure at 2,000 bar. The base 2.0 liter diesel makes/produces 126hp and 310Nm of torque between 1800 and 2400rpm. The more sedate of the two 2.2 liter engines is the D-4D 150 which produces 150hp and 340Nm of torque between 2200 and 2800rpm. The most powerful engine is the 2.2 D-4D 180, featuring 177hp and a massive 400Nm of torque between 2000 to 2800rpm. The D-4D 150 also comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission, a first for a Toyota diesel passenger car.

Transmission:

The 1.6L Engine comes up with a 6 speed manual while the 1.8 and 2.0 models also have an option for the Multidrive

S CVT transmission which succeeds the Super CVT-i transmission.

The seventh generation new Suzuki Alto 2009 will make its world debut in Paris this October.

The new suzuki alto comes up with a new Euro 5 compliant. The engine will be 1.0l aluminium

petrol engine with CO2 emissions lower than One hundred and nine gram per Kilogram (109g/KM)

Named as the New Suzuki's Global car, the Alto will be manufactured at Maruti Suzuki India's Manesar plant,

and will be sold mainly in Europe but also in India and other countries.

The Initial Production of this car will be start in October 2008 and full scale production for this car

for Europe will be started in December 2008

Honda have officially launched it's hot favourite car in the asian market, Honda city to Australia.

The city unveiled at 2008 Australian International Motor Show offered a few futuristic show-only styling additions.

The Honda came with some big plans because here it is Featuring custom headlights, tail lights, and large 17-inch beautiful alloy rims filling out the guards, the new Honda City 2009 concept revealed provided buyers some idea of the styling opportunities (largely the wheels and ride height, of course) that can turn the already attractive Honda City into a real headturner.

In Australia, it will come with two specifications levels, ranging from 17,900$ to 21,990$. The engine is 1.5-litre four-cylinder (The same as of Jazz one). The expected fuel economy will be 6.4L/100km.

This seems to be a very interesting news and i'm sure the Honda Thailand will be well satisfied with this great number of sales in such a short period of time of their new honda city 2009.

It seems that V and SV models are the bigger sellers, with 80% of sales distributed between these higher spec models, and the S taking up the other 20%. So, it looks like that people can still do without airbags, ABS, EBD and BA.

Honda at launch, already prepared about 4000 units but beyond their expectations they managed to sell over 4500 units. Further more, Honda have set the target of 35000 Sales a year for the city in Thailand, but as the results are showing, no doubt they can easily achieve this target.

A China-based Pakistani firm to make natural gas powered buses in Karachi

A Pakistani company which is established in China have shown a deep interest in manufacturing CNG Buses in Karachi to overcome the need of public transportation with economy. Their Intial plan is to start with an investment of 5 Million Dollars. A Meeting was held with Sindh Transport Minister by 3 member delegation of Commerce and Sourcing House (CASH) and China’s King Long United Automobile Industry comprising president CASH, Jamshedullah, project manager King Long’s, Andrew Chen and manager Chang Hua.

In meeting, they discuss about the buses,they will come with a capacity to carry 30 standing and 45 seat passengers. It is also further stated that Commerce and Sourcing House will provide the investment of $5 million, while King Long United Automobiles Industry will provide technology.

According to the sources, The delegation informed that two buses will be initially deployed in Karachi in the year 2009. The buses will be manufactured specially according to the weather conditions of Karachi and will have a 10 year life.

Well so now we have to see that these cng buses can fill the high demand of public transportation in the biggest city of Pakistan, Karachi

We understand, every indian dream of the american life, their high living standard and style. They want to copy it. Now Look at the Tata's highly advertised 2700$ car which will force other manufacturers to lower their rates also, infact lower the quality to keep the margin profit. But now on the other side if you look at the Indian roads, they are full of Traffic Jams. Poor road management, Infrastructure is missing and in some major Indian cities, it can be a surprise if you are able to drive at ease during office hours.

Indian Environmentalists have started to forsee the worsening level of pollution in near future. The damage to environment and public health comes from many directions.

So The $2700 car from Tata is a dream for Indians. But it comes with false American dream that can push India towards environmental catastrophe.

Think the price of oil can remain sky-high amid a U.S. recession, a global economic slowdown, and the worst credit market conditions in decades?

Think again.

Oil prices are headed back to $50, according to analyst at an investment firm based in Russia.

Chris Weafer, analyst at Uralsib Capital in Moscow, said the Russian market is projecting that oil prices will plunge to about $50 per barrel, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday. Amid a U.S. recession and a global economic slowdown, oil has fallen about 38% to $91.07 per barrel after hitting a record high of $147.27 per barrel in July.

But again, i do wonder, are they the same analyst's which were predicting 500$ oil per barrel, few months ago ??

The long waited Corolla GLI and XLI of the new corolla, which was launched about sometime ago in 1.8 and 2.0 d editions have finally started appearing in Pakistani Showrooms in 1.3 Versions as well . In our previous corolla review, we briefly told about the new corolla, so after reading it we can see a little bit change in Gli & XLI versions.

Carmaker, Mazda have revealed three pictures of their new upcoming 2009 Mazda3 sedan, which will replace the current

available Mazda3 which was launched about five years ago.

Official Release Date :

As according to the news source, it is expected to be unveiled to the public on 19 th November, 2008 at Los Angeles Auto Show

General Information :

The model is specially designed for North American Market. It will have a choice of two engines, 2.0 and 2.5 liter engines,

which are somewhat larger for a C-Segment sedan, but everybody know's American's love big engines.

The Hatchback version will be released later and probably Mazdaspeed3 sometime after the Hatchback version.

The bumper and tail lamps will have minor changes with designs for other markets.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Police Edition.

Muitsubishi, a well known player in the automobile industry today launched a special Lancer Evolution X Police Edition, because after all the kid's you are chasing can have it, so why can't you ?. Right now, the company haven't revealed neither some information about it's specification leaked, right now we have only photos. London has been rumored to be testing 2.0-liter diesel Lancers. So maybe we should say "watch out baddies."

The police edition is truly just a copy of Evo X with a light bar. It’s engine is powered by the same turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder 16-valve DOHC MIVEC (likely 300 hp) unit used used in the standard Lancer Evolution X. Another great thing is that the car is also loaded with the Evo X’s S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control) vehicle dynamics control system and the newly developed, power-efficient Twin Clutch SST (Sport Shift Transmission).
