LAHORE, Mar 22: Consumer court presiding officer Syed Maruf Ahmed Ali has ordered a carmaker and its dealer to replace the petitioner's vehicle and also pay a sum of Rs10,000 as cost.
Petitioner Imran Babar said he purchased a Cultus car from Suzuki Motor House, an authorised dealer of Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited, against a purchase order of Rs595,000 issued by a bank. He added the dealer charged him Rs5,000 ex tra for the car's cool beige colour, Rs12,500 as registration fee and Rs22,000 for immediate delivery.
The petitioner said the car was originally booked and released in the name of Mohammad Qasim through the dealer. He added the car also had some workmanship defects.
He said he had sent a legal notice to the dealer under Section 28 of the Punjab Consumer Protection Act but he did not respond.
The dealer filed a written reply in response to the charges raised in the petition. The court, after going through the record, said it was proved that the dealer delivered a used car to the petitioner.
The petitioner had paid the purchase amount for a brand new car and has prayed that this car be replaced. The court ordered both the dealer and the company to replace the vehicle with a new one.
The court also ordered the dealer to refund Rs22,000 the petitioner paid for getting the car immediately. The court also asked both the dealer and the company to pay Rs10,000 to the petitioner as cost within 10 days.
I still wonder, is that really a truth ?
SHANGHAI, Fang Yan writing for Reuters, provided us with detailed information about the world's second-largest auto market,

the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the country's official industry association, said on Monday.
There is a doubt that further declines in the sale will occur due to rise in the petroleum prices.
Rao also predicted an end to China's era of 20 percent-plus annual growth in passenger cars sales, with 2008 growth falling sharply
to 6 to 8 percent, followed by more moderate growth rates of 10 to 15 percent from 2009 to 2015.
China,(The most populated country in the world) raised about 20 percent prices in petroleum sector in late june,
the first rise in seven months and the steepest one-off hike ever.
But Rao noted that the slowdown had simply brought the car market's growth rate into line with the overall economy.
"In the global auto industry, 10 to 15 percent annual sales growth is still very fast," he said.
In the first eight months of the year, 4.55 million sedans, sport utility vehicles and multipurpose vehicles were sold in China, up 13 percent from a year earlier, the country's official auto association said in its monthly report.
Joint ventures of Volkswagen AG and General Motors Corp are the top three car sellers in China.

Toyota offers the new 2009 Camry model with three different models:
*Four-cylinder
*V-6
*Hybrid
The four-cylinder models are powered by a 2.4-liter excellent engine that makes 158 horsepower (155 in Partial Zero-Emission Vehicle states) and 161 pound-feet of torque
(158 pound-feet in PZEV form) and is mated to a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission. The V-6 is powered by a stout 3.5-liter
engine making 268 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque, driving through an incredibly refined six-speed automatic transmission.

The Price seems to be start from 19K$ (19000$) to 22K$)(22000$) in USA.
We don't have any exact price information about new camry in India as well in Pakistan though you can calculate by checking foreign currency rates.
Conclusion:
I think camry don't need any words to explain itself. No doubt it is one of the best car ever produced by Toyota, the only drawback which comes into the mind is it's high price tag. If that is not your problem, then Camry is the way for you.

• Switch tronic
* Cruise control refers to a system that automatically adjusts and controls the rate of motion of a motor vehicle according to the instructions provided by the user. The driver is responsible to set a speed and the system will automatically maintain that speed.
Engine & Transmission :
Toyota have included the latest new dual VVT-i technology in the Altis, with the 1.6 liter 1ZR-FE and 1.8 liter 2ZR-FE being the two likely options for the Thai market.
The 1.6 liter should produce a healthy 124 hp, while we can expect the 1.8 to be around 140hp, on par with the 1.8 liter Civic power output.But the 1.6 will represent the bulk of the sales here.
The new European Corolla uses the 1.6 dual VVT-i engine to achieve fuel economy figures of 15km/l in the European combined fuel cycle. Although the 1.8 liter will offer even more power, the 1.6 is plenty capable, with 0-100km in just under 10.5 seconds, and a top speed of 195 km/h.

a wonder that is this design ready to compete with civic ?.
Design Interior :
The interior looks great to me. One of the great among them is Formula 1 style gear change indication light which shows the driver the optimum moment to change gears.
This feature is only on the manual version (obviously), and since manual transmission are reserved for the budget trim levels it's safe to assume that we won't see this sort of feature.
According to Toyota, following the advise of this system will result in around a 5% increase in fuel economy.
High end models which are fitted out with cruise control will have a "speed limiter" feature. The driver can set the maximum permitted speed, for example 120 km/m for expressway driving,
and will be able to accelerate normally until the car reaches this speed. The system can be over ridden in case of emergency by simply kicking down on the gas.
